I know this might sound a little lame, but Pressed Juicery is new to the city I live in.  [SHOCKER!]  Since the location of my local store is in a very convenient area for me, I thought I’d finally try some of this pressed juice I’ve been hearing so much about!

The Pressed Juicery location in Honolulu is located in what’s currently the largest shopping mall on Oahu.  It’s a small store right at the edge of the mall that only a few customers can fit in at a time.  [Are all the locations tiny?  Let me know in the comments!]

Since I hadn’t tried any of their juices (or juices from anywhere else) I thought to ask for the sales associate’s recommendations.  They pointed out a few choices on a menu card that they had at the counter.  Their most popular items were highlighted on the card, for easy reference.  At the time I visited the store, Pressed Juicery had a “Wellness Bundle” promotion for $25, which included 3 full sizes juices and 2 juice shots.  I took this as an opportunity to try these juices at a sort of “discounted” price.

The workers a friendly and willing to help you get introduced to their product.  They also offered samples of the different juices, which probably would have been a good idea, but I opted out because I thought the flavors would start mixing together and might start to taste gross!

I went with some options I figured were safe:

Strawberry Apple Lime – this was, by far, my favorite!  Watch out for the lime on the first sip – it’s a little strong!  But you get used to it 🙂  I actually preferred this chilled/frozen.  I popped it in the freezer or a couple of hours, and when I removed it I shook it up so I was like a slush.  I would say this is a good, easy intro to pressed juice.
Vitality Shot (turmeric, lemon, coconut water) – it was the hardest for me to drink this!  It might just be me, but the flavor is just so strong and…bitter and herbal?  I’m not sure how else to describe it, but you definitely get the lemon and turmeric in there!  If you like those things or can handle drinks that have a strong flavor, you might like this.  I’m pretty bummed I didn’t like this one so much because it’s PACKED with vitamins!
Citrus 2 (pineapple, apple, lemon, mint) – my second favorite of the bunch!  Also a pretty good option if you’re new to these juices.  Also really good if you throw it in the freezer for a bit before drinking.  The lemon and mint come through pretty strong though, so if you aren’t a fan of those flavors go for something else 🙂
Greens 2 (kale, spinach, romaine, parsley, cucumber, celery, apple, lemon) – another one I’m pretty sad about.  I know juices like this are like the ones you’re “supposed” to get at these juice places…but I don’t know!  I just can’t do the kale thing!  It’s rough.  I gotta adjust.  Please forgive me and be patient!  I’ll try it again, I promise.  I just feel like I’m drinking grass for some reason… 🙁

If you’re looking to try any of these juices and are trying to decide between a couple of flavors, I would suggest trying a sample before purchasing.  When I went in there was a crazy rush and the line went out the door, so I felt pressed to just pick something up to try.  (Lesson learned.)

If you’re wondering about the nutrition facts on some of the juices, there is a label on the back.  Note that the fruity ones do have a high sugar content, as expected.  To be honest, it did scare me at first – that’s a lot of sugar!

Have you tried Pressed Juicery or any other juice shops?  What are your favorites?  Any suggestions for me to try?  Looking forward to your comments and suggestions!

I LOVE cold-pressed juices! They are my new favorite thing! Instead of treating myself to coffee/tea, I’ll now treat myself to a cold-pressed juice! My favorite one has watermelon in it 😀

That sounds delicious! I think I’ve seen a watermelon flavored one – that’ll be next on my list to try!

I love their juices! Roots 2 is by far my favorite! The Vitality shot was a shocker at first (and I’m normally one who can handle those). My kids have gotten into it too. They love the Vanilla Almond Milk 🙂 A couple of downfalls… 1) It’s recommended that you drink the juice within 3 days of purchase… which brings me to reasons 2) The location is so far from my home! Which makes me wish the juices would last longer. But at least it’s fresh! Lmk when you’re ready to give it another try!
