For those who have been following my posts for a while, you’ll know that one of my favorite places to shop is Nordstrom.  I just want to mention that I’m not sponsored by them [although if I were, that would be totally awesome!].  I happen to be a loyal customer who finds shopping there convenient and have found value in their customer rewards program.  I like free shipping, easy returns and, simply, the products that they carry in store.
Which leads me to…their semi-annual mascara madness promotion.  Buy 2 mascara, get the third mascara free!  Of course there are some restrictions (no primers, no brow products) and the free mascara is the one that is the lowest in price.
When mascara is a priority, how can I say no?
The three mascaras I purchased were:
  1. Chanel Inimitable Waterproof – The description of this mascara indicates that it should give volume, length, curl and separation to lashes once applied.  Honestly, out of all of the mascaras that I’ve used, I’ve gotten asked most often which mascara I was using when I wore this one [by random strangers]!  I find the wand makes it easy to apply with short(er), plastic-y bristles.  I’ve purchased this mascara several times before, and haven’t had it in a while so I thought I’d get it again!
  2. Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Waterproof – Another one of my favorite mascaras!  This claims to give volume, which I would have to agree with.  I feel like it also makes my lashes look fluttery and gives some extra length!  I’ve also repurchased it a few times in the past and will probably continue to do so in the future.  The only thing I noticed over time that changed about this product is the packaging – it used to have a metal feel, but now it’s a black plastic.  Doesn’t change what’s inside, though!
  3. Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye – Bobbi Brown mascara is new to me.  So far, I’ve only tried a sample of this mascara when I purchased something and received a few freebies as a gift.  The sample worked pretty well, so I was willing to try the full sized [sometimes it’s different!].  We’ll see how this one goes!  It looks promising 🙂  This is supposed to be a very dark, black formula that increases the volume of the lashes.

I prefer waterproof formulas, but the Bobbi Brown was the only one out of the three I picked up that isn’t made in waterproof.  All of the mascaras that I purchased were black, which is my go to color.

Did you shop during mascara madness?  Let me know what mascaras you picked up!
